What has Ned Lamont done to address diesel fuel costs?

June 2, 2022

Branford, CT– Bob Stefanowski, candidate for Governor of Connecticut, responds to Governor Ned Lamont’s comments regarding diesel fuel costs in Connecticut:

When asked about the escalating costs of diesel fuel today,

Governor Lamont responded –

“I know that the cost of diesel is exorbitant. I know what that means…for small businesses. We’re trying to do everything we can at the state level to mitigate this.

I need the legislature to get this over the finish line.”

As reported by CT Mirror, it’s expected that Governor Lamont will sharply increase taxes on diesel fuels by July 1 and introduce yet another gas tax next January – this time for $90 million – making it even more expensive for small businesses to stock inventories and consumers to afford goods.

Bob Stefanowski stated “Residents are already struggling with outrageous Biden/Lamont inflation. For months now we have urged Governor Lamont to suspend remaining state taxes on regular gas and diesel, yet he decided to go the other way and increase fuel taxes even further! This Governor is completely out of touch with the struggles Connecticut households face every day. As your Governor, I will put people first and make it more affordable to live, work and raise a family in Connecticut.”
